Sounds like an interesting way to make a living.
Definitely beats the hell out of working at McDonalds.
So, you're moving just for the job, or did you want a change of scenery and the job just provided a good excuse to move? I'm moving because I need to get the hell out of this small @ss town I moved to, to go to college...It's probably the most boring college town ever invented!
I'm a military brat so I've moved a whole bunch of times...but this will be the second time I've moved by myself with no help.....I have no friends or family anywhere around so I am more than ready to leave where I am.....Even if I didn't have a possible job lined up, I would still move to where I am going, because my friends are willing to let me stay with them for practically nothing until I have my job and have saved up to get my own place in the same high rise.
It'll be like Will & Grace for me...cept my Will has a man, and I'll be living with the two of them for a while...and THEN moving down the hall lol . The similarities are astonishing really.....Wish I were in NY like Will and Grace, but you can't have everything I guess

That sounds really cool Feigy, and a very good reason to move also.
You should always be near your friends. ;D

My last move was from my crappy apartment upstairs to this much nicer one down here. It was still a great deal of work -- putting everything in boxes, the whole "What the hell is this thing?" but ultimately it was a great move for me (which I also did largely by myself). I did it over the course of a November weekend -- hey, I've been at this address for two years now -- cool and I lost six pounds.
I moved in so fast they didn't have a chance to paint the walls. So I can blame every single nail hole on the guy who lived here before. ;D
My advice, if you're looking for it, is to focus almost exclusively on the positives of the situation you're moving to. It'll take a lot of attention off the process. Instead of looking despairingly at a big box of books -- moving tip: Books in small boxes; went much nicer -- imagine what they'll look like in the new place. I had so much joy just handling all of my books again and in finding spaces for them in the new place that I can't even remember the hell of getting them there.
And hey -- six pounds, am I right people?

CONGRATS on your six pounds.
I myself, stupidly, started a diet at the worse possible time of the year. But I have so far lost 5 pounds. I figure I am doing pretty good with all the temptations around the holidays. Plus I LOVE to bake, it helps to bake and then give it away. Makes good presents.

I wasn't looking for advice tj, but it was good. I was spouting those exacct things when I helped move my roomates two or so weekends ago. Unfortunately for them, the apartment they moved to, is just a segway until they find jobs and something better. So they really didn't have the thought of settling in and enjoying the place to look forward to. But, they did have some things so I was the annoying perky one throughout the process.
I do expect my move to be stressful, but not so much that it dampens my mood much.....I've been packing away my books and geeze I didn't realize I had so many! Not too mention all the therapy books I've collected over the past couple years.
I can't wait until the move is over though. But I'll be moving again in another 6 months or so, and that will be to my own place and no one else..aaah can't wait.
Thanks for the new back as well as the beautifully tied bow spk1903 I will just have to keep telling myself to "lift with the legs".

Look guys, It's me ranting about school again!
*Everytime I hit the "ranton" smiley I keep thinking of Wayne's World where they keep having to move their hockey game for the traffic and then they say "Game On" when their ready to play again. Which actually has nothing to do with my rant, just thought I'd share with you though. ;D*
In my Web Design class we have group presentation to do on Friday. We're supposed to present the final phase of our project, which is an e-commerce site.
A site that so far I've done all the work on. Kunal keeps telling me about all this cool stuff he's going to add to the page, but so far I haven't actually seen any of the things he's talking about.
The only assignment I gave him was to build the shopping cart/order form. I figured that would be pretty complex so I didn't want to give him additional work.
I built everything else, because it's fairly straightforward HTML, with some videos and mp3's thrown on to spice it up.
Anyway, we were given to understand that for our presentation we would just show our web page. No big deal right?
Well today, this evening as a matter of fact, our lovely instructor emails us her specifications for the presentation. Some people in the class have to present theirs on Wed. I feel very sorry for them.
So, here's what she wants:
This is the kind of information we should have had WEEK's AGO!
Now, as if I wasn't stressed out enough with stuff from my other group project (and that one is worth 1/3 of my grade in the class) she adds to it.
We're going to have to scramble to pull this crap out of our @ss!
I so do not need this aggravation.
Just a week and a half. Just a week and a half. Just a week and a half .....

umm Cordy, not to sound like I don't agree that you should have gotten that info weeks ago... but it seems to me, that if you guys have put together this website... a good portion of those elements would have been part of the process when developing the concept etc... What do I know though?
I think that Kunal fella can do the presenting in regards to the money and profit aspects of the site, since he's supposed to do the purchasing area and all....
All I'm saying is, your professor was lame in not outlining the presentation before now....but I think you have a lot of that stuff already figrued out....now you just have to babble on about it during your presentation.
Not long now Cordy, [Latino accent] You can do it! [/Latino accent]

I know the stuff is already there, sort of.
But we never really went into any details for our fictional company. Nothing anywhere near as detailed as what she's looking for.
I can make up a bunch of crap, but I have so much stuff to do for my other classes right now.
And Kunal is really behind in his now as well. His car was broke into over the weekend. Someone stole his backpack, with all his books, his jump drive, and his notes.
Plus he had went Christmas shopping and he had several hundred dollars worth of gifts stolen.
So he has to redo a lot of work for some of his other classes, some of it is a semester long project.
This is why you should always keep back up of your back ups.
I have all my school files in several locations so if something happens to one of my files, I don't have to redo everything I've already done.
Luckily this doesn't affect what he has to do for this class. He had that on his home computer, our web page file is friggen huge!
And Nathan, the other guy in our group. Well, he's kind of dumb, nice as hell but not much help.
So guess who's job it's going to be to make up all our crap? Mine. Yay me!
It's not that I can't do it, because I totally can, it's just the principle of the matter. She should have told us this a long time ago.
I feel so sorry for the people who have to present theirs on Wed. They really don't have much time.
I totally needed that.
Now, if only I could get rid of this headache.

Things are actually much less crazy in my life at the moment.
ITL's been giving me some fabulous feedbak on the memoir, the fellers getting all motivated, and Lola remains frisky.

So when we don't hear from you does that mean Lola is motivated and the feller is frisky? ;D
