As long as the topic of Biblical Literalism was brought up, did we ever get any reconciliation from the BL's amongst us as to the issue of the Bible literally instructing that Grail and I should be beaten to death and killed as an example to others? Because that's kinda the part I have a problem with... I've mentioned at the ML that those "instructions" don't apply anymore. That doesn't mean that God doesn't have a problem with people practicing in witchcraft or is living as a homsexual. Just, means that those "old laws" don't apply anymore. Once Christ came into the picture, things changed. He's the new law. This is what I've never grasped. Both smart men. Y'all read the Bible many times. Yet both of you have overlooked this. Both of you still stick to what it said in the past. What Moses told the Israelites. Yet, we're told in the Scriptures that Christ is the new law. The new convenant. Thereby discontinuing the old law found in the Old Testament.

But seriously, he's one of those people that needs God, if nothing else, because he's too "stupid" (sorry, couldn't think of another word) to have any self-control or meaningful thought of his own. C'mon, admit it, Carl Marks was kinda on to something...
So, if I believe the same as your dad, then that makes me stupid? Because as long as I have God, I'll have something greater waiting for me than this corrupted world could ever offer. And, from what I remember in a history class I once took, Carl Marx later in life regretted his teachings because he saw how corrupted they were.

Karl. Karl Marx. We've been through this.
Yeah, you literalists and your having it both ways: You have to believe everything in the Bible and revere all of G-d's laws, but then they don't matter anymore because of Christ.
Don't worry about it. Paul already gave himself an aneurysm trying to get his head around the exact same problem in the entire Letter to Romans. He couldn't really do it, but not to worry.
Y'all can't really do it either. ;D

I didn't say you were stupid...just said he was. No, I don't think people who have religion are stupid. And as for Karl Marx, a lot of what he had to say was crap...but "religion [being] the opiate for the masses" is something I can really see being true sometimes. Just my opinion of course.
And If you have something greater waiting for you than yay you. And while this world is indeed corrupted...it has a lot to offer besides corruption. So, if I don't need the idea that there's a better existance beyond this life to get me through it...than there's nothing wrong with that either.

Already did, Bango. The theology of Christianity is most directly laid out in Romans. That's where you find it. And it's tortured and way too complicated to be true.
But it takes that much complexity to make G-d love Gentiles as well as Jews.
Just ... pointing it out.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
Side Note:
Some are so into an opinion of what they want God to say in making deals for him not realizing we don't make them God does.

G-d's covenant is with Abraham's observant progeny.
It took all of Paul's tortured logic and a few obviously tacked-on conversations in the Gospels to make it apply to Gentiles.
Why don't you pay attention?
