Ok, as you know the Australian version of Serenity gets a few more special features then the ones you guys have. I was checking them out and they aren't really that special execpt for the Q&A he did when he was here in Oz but I'll come back to that. Beware, spoilers.
They have around 5 extended scenes, you couldn't really notice them from the ones in the film apart from the Mingo and Fanty one. A small tour of Serenity with Alan, Joss, Nathan and Adam and there was some other one, I can't remember it right now.
Back to the Q&A, it was pretty funny, it goes for around 60 mins. At the start he made everyone sing happy birthday to this woman and at the end they all sung the Firefly theme. It was shiny and some people asked some funny questions. One person asked him what his favourite toy was when he was a kid and what was its name. Joss said he got given this teddy bear when he was 12 but he never gave it a name, but in college he had a knife block and he gave all the knives names but he never gave the teddy a name.
Another person asked him if he was on a desert island, who were the 5 people he would take with him. He said he would take George Bush because everyone else would need something to eat. He was also asked to do the Dance of Joy but sadly he couldn't do it because he had surgery like a week or 2 before. Other then that it was pretty funny.

I look forward to reading this tomorrow. Right now I want to take to bed my feelings and think about them first.

*this spot reserved for Dez's thoughts*
I write what I thought in at the end in the transcripts. But I want to think about it some more.
Quickly, I was upset about Wash. Very. And the "happy" moments at the end did not even things out in my mind.
.
Shocked.
But. Then 5-10 minutes later. I guess that shifted to purpose, in that I feel good about a sequel and that Joss has better plans for Zoe and the rest of the crew without him.
So ... I have hope. But I was disappointed in that choice. Joss is brilliant, so lets see which way that leaf blows in the wind.
Nite luvs.
Dezzie out

* Still effected *
* Sniff for Wash *
.
Moment please. It's a dark Monday in Dezzie world.
.
But you know, I trust Joss -- I TRUST HIM!
He has a plan, a masterful plan, a wonderfully twisted and enamoring plan. And I can smell a full on sequel coming too.
So ...
CHEERS TO JOSS'S MASTERFUL PLAN FOR SEQUEL SERENITY!
.
And thank you - THANK YOU guys for watching with me! For dropping your normal viewing ... that just got me all choked up! Kevee missing GA all together, just to be with me! Awe ... that gets me all melty. Really guys I lub you!
I am so glad we watched that Joss Intro too. I really loved that. I was sorta wanting to know what he thought about the show canceling ... so that was really amazing foreplay going into the movie.
* LIGHTER *

Kev's got a copy of DH&GA coming to him in today's mail.
And even those of us who can't miss our 'Wives and doctors (not this close to the season finales, certainly) love you too, dez.

By all means do what moves you. I wouldn't want you there if your heart wanted to be somewhere else.
.
I am happy for the rest of the gang that watched:
ITL (staying up late) and Cords, Kevee and Auntie who really wanted to see my reaction and then her DVD player took a big choke and died!
Thanks guys! I am still deeply moved and very effected by the movie.
* Got to go cry in the corner for Wash now *

Thanks, tj, for sending me a tape. Is it alright for me to tape the two hour series finale of GA's on tape and send it to you.
And dez, you now have to buy like 10 DVD's and give it to all of your friends. DVD sales are important in getting a sequal, and the more sold the better.

The only problem is I dont have any friends that like Sci-Fi anymore. I did a long time ago, but you guys are my Sci-Fi friends. So ... *deep sigh*But I was thinking about Wonder Woman more today. And just from a marketing strategy and trying to think like how Joss would... If he cast Inara (Morena Baccarin) as Wonder Woman, that could def. launch her into huge stardom -- AND not exactly hurt the sales of Firefly/Serenity, or any plans for growing the viewership for a sequel. A following for her, could be a huge draw for a sequel. And I had to watch that Intro piece again this morning. I really believe Firefly was Joss's treasured work. He might not admit to it, but G-d you could feel the pride beaming out from him. I strongly feel this today.

I agree, and it was probably a result of a close set, a fanatic fandom, and just his love of the characters.he created.

Instead of getting the individual issues, you might want to check out the Trade Paperback instead.
